How to conduct a board of review through Video Conferencing

SHARED FROM BRIAN ON SCOUTING

The board of review, like most aspects of Scouting, works best in person.

But sometimes, due to extenuating circumstances, that is not an option. That is why, as outlined in the Guide to Advancement, the BSA allows units to conduct boards of review by teleconferencing; using tools like Skype, Google Hangouts or Zoom.

Bryan Wendall of Bryan on Scouting posted an exellent article on how to go about contucting a board of review using tools like Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts or GoToMeeting.  Teleconferencing has been used for BORs long before Coronavirus forced all to consider alternative ways to meet while respecting our social distances.

Check out our Remote Meetings post to learn about some video conferencing tools that are available. And our post on how to share and Working on documents together while in remote locations from each other.
