It is the location of an old quarry and has many routes that are set up for top rope and sport climbing. Parking is on a pull off which is the old Crusher Rd (abandoned), just north east of Tamarack Rd. Park at the gate and follow a heard path slightly uphill in a southerly direction, away from Route 8. It’s literally a couple of minutes from the road. The rock wall faces SE and at the top it can get pretty hot in the warmer months, but it is shaded at the bottom by trees to keep belayers and non-climbers cool. Besides a lot of top rope routes it also has some sport routes and the grade is from 5.3 to 5.10. Height ranges from 20’ to 40’. One nearby option for camping could be Moffit Beach State Campground or the slightly further away Lewey Lake State Campground. Both require a minimum two night reservation. Growing up we camped year-round with our little 3.5 meter long "caravan". Summer vacations were spend in France were the Alps and Pyrenees got me interested in the mountains. Later on i got interested in sailing and did that for many years, lakes, tidal estuaries as well as coastal. Once in the US I was invited on an ADK mountaineering trip in late October, slide climb to a 46'r, woke up above the clouds with fresh snow on the ground and was hooked. When Troop 122 was formed there was a need for an ASM outdoors trip leader which i have been ever since. Along the way Crew 122 was formed were i have been Advisor since its founding.
